In the first week we exhibited and demonstrated the original interactive instruments created in the 1920‘s by Leon Theremin. His magical invention enabled the creation of music through the aether, generating a strange otherworldly sound that was responsible for the birth of synthesised music.

We also showed one of Theremins lesser known gadgets the "Terpsitone". A device that was truly mixed media, where a dancer could perform and her movements be translated into music. The purpose of this is to show how the technologies of yesterday can still be relavent today, our Terpsitone is linked to the digital technology of the 1990’s but the essential component is a device of the 1920’s.
